WTB: cradles for bolting to 2x8 for car-top boat rack

Can anyone tell me where to get these cradles?:
I've seen a few car-top boat racks made from a long 2x6 or 2x8 with a
cradle bolted to each end.  The cradles are made of a roughly U-shaped
aluminum frame with webbing slung between the tops of the U.  I spoke at
the American Rowing Championships with a Canadian gentleman who makes the
cradles for sale.  There may be other manufacturers as well.

Alden Ocean Shells/Rower's Bookshelf, in Maine (800-477-1507), sells very
sturdy mount-'em-yourself boat cradles in two widths, one appropriate for
racing singles and one for wider boats. They cost a lot, 90-some dollars
for a pair, but they seem pretty indestructible. I think they're made by
the Burnham Boat Slings people (800-723-4117).

I just bought one for myself from Hudson.  From what I've found, they tend
to be expensive.  Hudson's was $150, I beleive, and it comes with the bar,
cradles, u-bolts, and straps.  all the other ones I found were more
expensive, even in the 200s.

The Hudson rack is great.  My wife has one and it takes less than 15
minutes to put in on the car and load the boat.

Hugh Hudson will be at the Head of the Charles and he may have a rack or
two for sale.

I bought the Burnham  car-top slings for $90.00. I mounted them to a stained
and varnished 2X6. It  looks good and is very sturdy. I bolt it to the roof
rack on  my car with two U-bolts. Takes about  ten  minutes to mount the rack
to the car and another 10 to strap the boat to the rack.  Burnham racks come
in two sizes. One for singles and one for doubles  and rec boats. My single is
wood with a soft deck. The rack comes with foam covers over nylon webbing. The
foam pads left  indentations on the soft deck. I removed the pads and just
use the nylon webbing, no more marks. If your boat has a hard deck this won't
 be a problem.

One of the things I like about the Hudson rack is it is light.  All of the
sport-uts I have looked into have a fairly low weight limit on the roof (100
lbs).  When I am putting two boats and sculls on the roof I need to save
weight where I can.  That is where the Hudson rack comes in handy.
