Sort of ironic. They were changing the actual court of play to
counteract the "***" of one player. But at the time they did
it that player hadn't won an MVP in five years...but after the change
he won 3 of the next 4 MVPS.

Amazingly, he had averaged 42.6 points and 24.9 rebounds over the previous
four years-- including 50.4 points and 25.7 boards in '62-- without
winning a single MVP during the stretch.  Mind-boggling.

   It's actually there to remind kobo Bryant of his passing range.
