Brooklyn Cyclones (NY METS CLASS A): Bklyn Gets Its Very Own Minor League Team

As with most things in NEW YORK, they tend to be larger than life. Ultimately
becoming synonymous with worldwide recognition.  NYC is one of the most reviled
and beloved cities in the world.  Its baseball teams being no exception.  From
the BROOKLYN (4th largest city in the USA) DODGERS to
THE NY YANKEES (winningest team in the MLB), nothing compares to "NY PRO
TEAMS".   BROOKLYN, NY can now claim its very own MINOR LEAGUE TEAM and STADIUM
in CONEY ISLAND (world's most famous amu***t park and beach).  Thanks to
Mayor RUDY GUILIANI,  KEYPSAN PARK (6500 seats) now rests in the heart of
BROOKLYN!  Opening day is June 25th. Whether you're a NEW YORKER or a lover of
baseball, the above history making event is not to be missed!!

Yeah, gotta love those Jets. And hey, who are the Knicks playing this week?

Amu***t park, maybe. Garbage dump, probably. Home for wayward Russian mobsters,
definitely (and hey, why haven't you mentioned Bugsy Siegel?). But most famous
beach? You should live so long.

If you'll promise to be there and wear a carnation, I think we could probably sell
out the place. Is it bat day, by chance?

Hate to burst your "out-of-town yokel" bubble, but NYC has been the hub of the
world for eons. Over 36.7 millions tourists flocked to NYC, last year, making
it the second most popular tourist attraction in the USA. Only second to DISNEY
WORLD in FLA.  NY is the hub of media, economy, wall street, radio city music
hall, Madison Square Garden (world's most famous arena), crossroads of the
world (Times Square), second home to Hollywood, broadway, fashion capital of
the world, home to the most expensive real estate in the world, cuisine, and
most importantly, NYC stands as a testament to individuality and freedom. From
the Statue of Liberty to the United Nations, millions of immigrants have come
(and still come) to NY, in hoped of bettering their lives. Remember, the
world's most powerful and influential men and women prize success in New York
above all other places. To "knowing individuals (non Yokels), NYC is consistent
excellence across the board!! e.g. It has also been said that being NY's mayor
is only second to being President, in terms of exposure. continued......

your yokel town or city is without its fair share of crime!? DOH! Sorry, but
you make very little sense. FYI: NYC is still the largest and safest city in
the world!! NY has seen a 60% decrease in crime, since RUDY G took office!! NYC
today is not the NYC of yesteryear, bubeleh!! While NY has always been the
cultural mecca of the world, the crime is at an all time low and the economy
couldn't be finer! Christ, DISNEY STUDIOS can now be found in TIMES SQUARE!eheh

So by your logic, NYC has been supplanted as "hub of the world" by a
theme park?

Admit it, baboon:  you're a Klansman from rural Alabama, spitting
tobacco juice through the rotting stumps of your teeth as you skim
through David Duke's Guide to the Hebrew Race looking for ways to
discredit those damn Jew Yorkers who sent Hitlery Clinton to the Senate.

You're an embarrassment to your purported religion, your purported

Shlemiel, I was referring to MANHATTAN! Last year alone, 36.7 million tourists
flocked to MANHATTAN, making it the second most popular TOURIST ATTRACTION In
the USA! What part of that sentence do you not understand!? DOH! Learn how to
read, HEY JEALOUSY!eheh There are a million and one things to do here in the
*** city!! BROOKLYN'S CONEY ISLAND (Bklyn, one of the 5 boroughs of NY) is
just one of the many legendary locales to see.  NYC (MANHATTAN) is the HUB OF
THE WORLD in terms of CULTURAL DIVERSITY, SIGHTS & SOUNDS, HISTORIC MAKING
EVENTS, & WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION!! The landmarks and history making events that
have occurred and continue to occur in NY is endless. From the beginnings of
RADIO & TV to THE STATUE OF LIBERTY. From THE UNITED NATIONS to THE BROOKLYN
BRIDGE. From YANKEE STADIUM (House that BABE RUTH BUILT) to SHEA STADIUM
(BEATLES at SHEA, one of the biggest rock concert in the world) to MSG (world's
most famous arena) From WOODSTOCK (Bethel, NY) to THE FILLMORE EAST, RADIO CITY
MUSIC HALL to ROCKEFELLER CENTER. NY is also the  FASHION CAPITAL OF THE WORLD,
HUB OF MEDIA, RADIO, TV, PRINT, GARMENT DISTRICT & DIAMOND DISTRICT, WALL
STREET, CARNEGIE HALL, SOCIALITE STATUS, BOHEMIANS, STUDIO 54 (world's most
famous disco, now a broadway theatre), CENTRAL PARK (world's most famous
recreational center), THE COTTON CLUB (Harlem), LINCOLN CENTER, ED SULLIVAN ,
DAVID LETTERMAN, WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE, SEX AND THE CITY, CONAN, 2.3 of
SOAPS are filmed here, SOPRANOS (interiors) is filmed at SILVERCUP STUDIOS in
NYC, HARVEY WEINSTEIN (MIRAMAX) is in the midst of builing a billion dollar
movie studio in BROOKLYN, SPEILBERG plans on building one out on LONG ISLAND,
TIMES SQUARE (dropping of the ball on NEW YEAR'S EVE, watched by billions
around the world, and attended by millions), everything that touches NYC soil
ultimately becomes larger than life!! NYC has also produced more intellectuals,
poets, artists, actors, notables than any other major city and state in the
world!! e.g. Where did THE BEATLES first touch ground upon their arrival to
AMERICA!? DOH!eheheheh Do you that NYC was a coincidence, genius?ehehh DOUBLE
DOH! Remember, if you can make it there, you can make it anwyhere, it's up to
you NEW YORK, NEW YORK... eheh The measuring stick to success has always been

Doug, your comments (which appear to be your own and not your "David Duke
character" eh) ultimately work against you! They show that NYC continues to be
synonymous with greatness and historic making events! HILARY CLINTON is the
"first" FIRST LADY to be elected to the U.S. SENATE. If NY is good enough for
BILL & HILARY, what's your excuse!? You seem to be allowing your own political
views and jealousy of the Jews to cloud your reasoning!! That's clearly
apparent from your above ramblings! You're another "out-of-town yokel" who
hasn't a clue!hehe A person with half a sense would never question NEW YORK'S
"HUB OF THE WORLD" status!  Never question "what is."

David, you really need to find a new hobby!eheeh Obsessing over my every word
is not going to get you far!! I was alluding to AMERICA!! NYC (MANHATTAN) &
BROOKLYN are two of the largest cities in the USA. LOS ANGELES & CHICAGO
follow. Farshtaist!? Furthemore, the most powerful and influential country in
the world is AMERICA, not SOUTH AMERICA, and not ASIA! DOH!  The measuring
stick to success has always been the good ole U.S. of A!! Remember, immigrants
die to come to America!! They risk their lives on inner tubes to come here. Why
aren't they risking their lives for any other country!? Why did millions flock
to ELLIS ISLAND during centuries past!? Why are immigrants still flocking to
NYC!? FYI: The new commemorative state quarter for NY has been released and its
slogan reads: "THE GATEWAY TO FREEDOM."  NYC shall forever be synonymous with
freedom, liberty and individuality. Coincidence that THE STATUE OF LIBERTY &
THE UNITED NATIONS both reside in NYC!?
David, get off my jock (heh) and learn how to accept reality! The reality that
Jews are a wise and wonderful people and that NYC = THE HUB OF THE WORLD!

I never questioned that New Yorkers are legends in their own minds. They tend to
have the definitions of "insular" and "cosmopolitan" exactly backward.

So basically, New Yorkers are great at tooting their own horns.

And what is your first language? "winningest team in the MLB" would normally imply
that they had the best winning percentage in the current season to an English
speaker.

Neither largest nor safest in the world. Tokyo and Mexico City are certainly
larger, and any number of European and Canadian cities are safer. And anyone who
would brag about the way Rudy has saved Times Square by ruining it isn't a real New
Yorker. I spend a lot of time in NYC on business, FYI, and see enough of it to know
that you're pulling this "yokel" stuff to try to hide the fact that you're
basically full of shit.

Wrongo, Ringo!!ehe MANHATTAN REAL ESTATE (prime locale being CENTRAL PARK/PARK

ALLEN just sold his MANHATTAN PENTHOUSE for 30 million dollars! When actors are
not shmoozing in Hollywood, where do you think they flock to!? TOKYO!? DOH! Try
NYC, second home to Hollywood!! You pay for your locale!  You  pay to be among
a city that has a million and one things that are at your disposal!!  FYI: Over
200 films are shot on location in NYC, each and every year (including DATELINE,
60 MINUTES, 20/20, SOPRANOS (SILVERCUP STUDIOS), WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE,
DAVID LETTERMAN, CONAN, 1/3 of SOAP OPERAS, MTV STUDIOS (TRL), ROCK N' ROLL HOF
INDUCTION CEREMONY (WALDORF ASTORIA), SEX & THE CITY, LAW & ORDER, and hordes
of other shows that are filmed on location in NYC). Not to mention the hordes
of actors and notables who live there as well. Most celebs (in addition to
having a home in CALIFORNIA) also have homes in MANHATTAN or  THE HAMPTONS
(LONG ISLAND). On the West it's LOS ANGELES, and on the East it's NEW YORK! No
brainer!! P.S. Can you also say DONALD TRUMP, real estate magnate, BILLIONAIRE
and NEW YORKER!?  How 'bout TRUMP TOWERS!? One month's rent is enough to feed
your family and future families for a century!heheheee Remember,  New York, a
city of staggering contrasts, diversity and culture, occupies a unique place
among world's great cities. Standing equal with, if not surpassing, today's
great metropolises (Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London). New York also ranks among
the great trade and cultural centers of history (Rome, Cordoba, Beijing,
Athens).  From Wall Street to the The United Nations, the world's most powerful

I did a quick google search.  Obviously it's the largest
U.S. city, although that's not what you originally wrote.
Safest?  Hardly.  One ranking I found for 1999 (most recent
figures available) had it 120th out of 322 cities in the
U.S.  Even if you limit it to the largest 27 cities, it
still is only 7th, ranking it right on the edge of the 25th
percentile.  Is that horrible?  No, it's clearly improved
from the crimeridden hellhole it used to be, and only
partially because of questionable police tactics.  But
clearly not the safest (which was Honolulu for large
cities).
