Baseball rules for dummies, or FAQ?

Baseball rules for dummies, or FAQ?

Post by Pierre Magnena » Wed, 09 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Hi!

I had two monthes ago the opportunity, for the first time of my life, to
attend a baseball game in Seattle. A friend gave me a short introduction
to the rules before, as it is absolutely unknown in Switzerland. Now, I
have been caught by the virus, and would like to know more!

Is it somewhere a FAQ, or a "baseball for dummies" document to help a
newbie to understand the game? Watching on TV, I am frequently lost,
partly because the speakers use a difficult language for a non english
listener...

I don't know of any introductory explanation of baseball available on-line,
but there are a number of books that have been published.  One that I would
recommend is _Baseball_Rules_in_Pictures_ by A. G. Jacobs & J. R. McCrory,
published by Perigee Books (ISBN 0-399-51597-6).
