Today's paper reports that, to preserve his trade value, JT will go to
Vancouver.  Eddie Perez will start at 1B.  Bo appears to have won the Opening
Day LF job.

It is possible that Salmon will hit third and Bo fourth.  I also think DiScarc
could be used in the 2-hole.  I'd rather see Easley there myself.

Flora will likely go back to the minors as well.  I'd say that preserves a job
for Dw. Smith.

Farrell has been sent to the minors.  It appears, for reasons known only to
God, that Springer will stay here, and start the season as the fourth starter
with Langston, Finley and Leftwich.  Magrane is likely back around 5/1.  A guy
*** around still is Brian Anderson, a former #1 pick, who's got a chance
to knock out Springer for that last spot in the rotation.  He might be kept
until Magrane comes back, and then a decision between him and Springer.
This'd be my guess for know.

What about the Angels' catcher situation?  You have Turner starting
and Myers on the bench here.  Angels fans, is this accurate?  I had
heard that Myers and Turner would platoon, which would give Myers
(the lefty hitter) the bulk of the playing time.  Anyone got some
info here?  Thanks.

I was under the impression that the 4th starter will be John
Dopson and the 5th spot is between Anderson and Mark Leiter
(who they just signed after he was released by Detroit).  Both
Dopson and Anderson have had bad springs (ERA around 10) but
Springer has been even worse (I think ERA around 14).

I thought the Angels acquired Harold Reynolds to play second base.  Am I
mistaken?

Yes they have.  I think the first list was posted before the trade.
