Fans with an interest in the history of The Game -- as well as
those of the Knicks & the late, great Red Holzman -- should enjoy
either / both of these books.
_____

RED ON RED
Red Holzman, with Harvey Frommer.
New York: Bantam Books, 1987.

Introduction by Senator Bill Bradley. Clean, tight hardbound,
first printing / first edition. Dust-jacket shows some wear. 206
p. Six*** pages of photographs, indexed.

Two basketball biographies by coaches named Red witness the
history of the modern professional game -- and this book is the
view from Noo Yahk!  Great stuff from one of the Great Ones,
culminating in the Championship '70's Knick teams. Uncommon,
interesting photos.

$10 (US$) ppd / USPS bookrate -- Add $1.50 for padded envelope.

_____

HOLZMAN ON HOOPS
Red Holzman, with Harvey Frommer.
Dallas TX: Taylor Publishing Co., 1991.

Subtitled: "The Man Who Led the Knicks Through Two World
Championships Tells It Like It Was."  Tight, clean hardbound,
first printing / first edition. Dust-jacket. 206 p. Twenty-four
pages of photographs, indexed.

This isn't a coaching book, nor is it a biography -- it is Hall
of Fame coach Red Holzman's breezy history of professional
basketball, most interesting for his idiosyncratic commentary on
the great players and teams of the NBA's fifty or so years. Knick
fans and students of the game know why Holzman's death (13
November 1998) marked the loss of one of basketball's Great Ones.

$10 (US$) ppd / USPS bookrate -- Add $1.50 for padded envelope.

Not a dealer -- just a fan with lots of hoop books.

PS: I've got a couple copies of Mickey Mantle's ALL MY OCTOBERS -
good solid hardbound copies, also at $10 (US$) postpaid. Let me
know if you want one of them.
