Well, since you asked, I'll comment on the A-10 picks since that's
what I know best.

Finally someone noticing that St Joe's is one of the better teams in
our weakened conference.  I'd give them a higher seed than Temple at
this point, based on their man-handling of the Owls last night.  Their
success isn't a total shock actually, they have the best Front Court
in the league, the big question mark with them was point guard.  If they
had a proven one they would've been the preseason pick. According to
Martelli, this team coming in was better than his Sweet 16 team from
a few years back. Jameer Nelson has come along faster than expected, and
they're playing like the class of the league right now.  If they keep it
up they're are best shot at getting someone to the S16 again.

Beyond that things haven't been sorted out in conference yet. Should
get one, maybe two others into the big one.  And a couple more into the
NIT.  The only thing I'd risk saying is that Xavier, once again, is
overrated, a product of the TSN hype machine, and they're headed to the
NIT again.

They look a pesky opponent come March.  Alas, looking
at their OOC results, it will take a pretty big upset
for them to get to the S16 unless they blow out the
A-10 all year.  The committee loves to***teams with
that kind of schedule/results, even if their RPI would
make them a 9 seed right now.

Also a product of their ability to consistently beat Cincy in a
nationally televised game, I think.

: Georgia Tech (5) vs. USC (12)

erm..no. you're making it sound like the bid is ours to lose, but the
converse is true.

i'd say we have to go at least 7-9 in conference and hence 15-12 overall
and pick up at least one win in the ACC tournament to have a chance, and
i don't think that's going to be easy.

RPI 15, Sagarin 21.  A 5 at worst, most likely a 4, possibly a 3 if the selections
were made today.

They'd really have to suffer a massive collapse to not make it. They
may not be Top 10 material but they're much too good to fall apart
like that.

Penn or my dark house, Brown. If Brown wins at Princeton for the first

Yet to be determined, perhaps. You can't give about 12-14 of those

In the 1st dummy bracket I found a major error.  Florida was listed in
two different regions.  With all the injuries it will be hard enough for
them to make one region.  I think Alabama will do much better than 11.

Who will?  My pick right now is BYU, but sure hope it is
New Mexico.  I don't think preseason favorite Utah or
pre-conference schedule favorite Wyoming have what it takes.
And that pretty much leaves BYU or New Mexico (since CSU, SDSU
and AFA won't make it and UNLV is ineligible).  And of those
two, I think BYU looks more impressive at this point.
