Cards vs. Kittens: The First Shot (GO CARDS!!!)

Post by G Ri » Mon, 18 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Well, ladies and germs, it is that time of year again, where the *** of an
entire state comes to a boil as the Cardinals from UofL will head 80 miles
east on I-64 to coRUPPt Arena to face the Kittens from UK Junior High.
Although UofL looked terrible against Georgia Tech, they should be tuned and
ready to go back-to-back against UK.  They will handle the pressure and such
from the home crowd and will more than likely beat UK in Lexington to complete
a sweep of UK in football, mens basketball, womens basketball, and womens
volleyball.
The Kittens still do not have anyone who can defend Samaki Walker or DeJuan
Wheat, and Alvin "RoboChico" Sims has elevated his game to another level this
season, so he will devestate UK even more than he did on NYD.  Tick Rogers is
back and healthy, Jason Osborne will be back, and the bench trio of Brian
Kiser, Damion Dantzler, and B.J. Flynn will offset UK's supposed depth
advantage. Mark Pope better bring a toothpick to scrape out the leather from
between his teeth when Samaki jams it in his grille.  Get ready for an
embaressing beeyatch slap courtesy of the University of Louisville Cardinals!!!

Jason Puckett

GO CARDS!!!  BEAT AIA!!!
UK CAN STILL EMBO!!!
PUSH ON!!!  BEAT U$C!!!

Now now. Maybe I missed something, but I thought Turner only caught him
with an elbow to the nose. What hurt Tech was poor rebounding and few assists
from Barry and Stephon. The same thing happened, I believe, to GT against
Georgia and they got beat soundly again, though I missed this game. I was
really looking forward to seeing it, but ESPN was showing a different game.

UofL will need Osborne. I wonder how rusty he will be. I do expect the Cards
to come out fired up, but UK is looking for revenge.

I've been a Cubs fan since birth. At least my Steelers are doing well.
Maybe I'll get lucky and the Blackhawks will make the Stanley Cup again.

Given the recent string of questionable goings on down on the Belknap campus
I don't think it behooves ULulator to start-in about UK.

Listen to me now girly-persons [:)], Jason got his grades up, but I wouldn't
count on Sanders to do shit in the classroom.  It remains to be seen whether
he'll still be at UofL next year.  The word on the street is that he has a

For a team that got killed on the boards against Georgia Tech, Osborne better
be back or UofLoserville better be ready for another embarassment. Lets
see how the Walker's compare. Can UofL run with UK? I hope they try.

Cards vs. Kittens: The First Shot (GO CARDS!!!)

Post by Cliffor » Wed, 20 Dec 1995 04:00:00

THis is why we play the game boys.  I see it this way--- Up and down the
court the Cats go, passing up first opportunities to get high percentage
shots, Walker and McCarty will rebound their asses off and Derek
Anderson will make a heady contribution to the game.  In the long run,
the Cards will wake up and not realize what just happened to them.  THe
morning paper will read Birds get Cat-nipped.  Look for Delk to have 17,
Walker to contribute 16 and the Fresh phenom, Mercer will bang in some
threes and total with 12.

Go Cats!

GT just got edged by Mt. St. Mary's.  I don't know that they've improved that much
so far . . .

Now, Brandon, Marbury still played the majority of the second half (something
like 15 minutes, I believe), and a nose bleed in the second half still
doesn't explain the total of 4 assists from Drew Barry and Marbury combined
(all from Barry, who normally dumps in double-digit assists).

Darn right it's a good thing. Maybe you should consider realigning your
allegiance to Athletes in Action (who, BTW, beat the Cards 81-80 the other
night -- if I were UK, boy would I be shaking. :)

Didn't AIA also beat Cincinnati?  I wouldn't get so***y about that--AIA is
comprised of former pro and college players.  So far, they're 9-12--and could
beat some SEC teams.

They also beat Malone College, Ohio Dominican and Urbana, so you should be
very proud of the fact y'all came close.:)
All I know is that UK is #4 + UofL is #25 + UofL lost to GaTech and AIA +
UK beat GaTech and AIA + Osborne and Sanders are ineligible + the game is
at Rupp + the Cats are much deeper and more talented + UofL is in the middle
of what could become a major NCAA controversy = NOT A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT!!
In rivalries like this one (and there are only a few), none of this ***
matters. Doesn't anyone remember a totally overmatched Duke team missing
victory TWICE last season over UNC by just a few points? Doesn't anyone
remember a totally overmatched UK team missing victory over #1 Indiana by
just a few points not too long ago?
There have been too many UK fans on local radio and in this newsgroup
popping off about how UK will demolish Louisville Saturday. While it may
happen, predicting it is meaningless and ignorant. None of us knows what
will happen in this game, and to pretend that we do is really pretty silly
and embarassing.
Having said that, I hope the Cats stomp the living frogshit outta them
pitiful redbirds.:)

I agree the Cats should soundly defeat the Cards.   If they don't will
the Cat fans be pleased with Ricky boy?  How much longer can he go
without winning the big one?  Joe B.  was criticized from the beginning.
Ricky can't last much longer.

All I can say is that this is shaping up to be a real blowout.  For the
Cats, it better be or there'll be hell to pay in Lexington.
