Double Standard

From reading the posts in this ng it seems that the prevailing opinion is
toi vote for all-stars based on career acheivement rather than present
acheivement - therefore the starting pitchers in the all-star game should be
Clemens and Maddux - not Pedro & Johnson (granted they both had excellent
years last year) but the fact is that career wise they have yet to surpass
Clemens and Maddux.  I think it is hypocritical to say that the position
players must have proven themselves over the long long term but the pitchers
don't.
