Blazer's starting to talk smack

Post by Spinhea » Sat, 21 Apr 2001 22:41:41

Things are fairly quiet right now on the smack talking front between the
Blazers/Laker organizations. Hopefully things will heat up over the next few
days and give the Lakers some bulletin board fodder.

From the Oregononian:
[So where do the Blazers go from here in this bizarre season? There is  only one
place they will find redemption -- in victory. A couple of W's and   the Lakers
will shape-shift into a big, gold pumpkin. Steal the home court  edge and watch
the Lakers point fingers. Let the NBA's coat of arms for team dysfunction rest
where it belongs -- in Los Angeles.    To get there, the Blazers will need
Wallace and Sabonis battling like  brothers against Shaquille O'Neal, the game's
greatest force. Is this team unpredictable enough to craft this scenario?]

If there is ONE team in the NBA that shouldn't be calling the Lakers
dysfunctional, that would be the Blazers. Anyway, thats old news. What doesnt
kill you makes you stronger, hmmm?  Lakers have to be pretty hungry right now
and with every win their momentum grows.

Amazing!  If there is any team in the league most likely to implode, it's
the Blazers, not the Lakers.  That journalist wreaks of homeritis and
irrationality.

The Oregonian's basketball writers in general are just
plain lousy.  I should post some e-mails.....

Overconfidence will be the Laker's downfall. They think they have the
Blazer's number. Well, I tell you, there's one team in the league that the
Blazers and their fans hate more than any other, and that's the Lakers.

This series may be more competitive and thrilling than last years WCF.

The Lakers will be the ones to ***this year.

Lakers won't get eliminated by the Blazers.  G.S. couldn't get eliminated by
the Blazers....

Man!  That's one hell of a prediction.  Most of the Laker's games I've ever
watched were the one's played against Portland, so I have by no means seen
every Laker's game.  So I ask you... the good fans in this n.g.:  Are the
Laker's the kind of team that will just choke?  Have they choked in other
games?  I certainly don't remember them ever *** in a Portland game.  If
Portland wins this playoff battle, it'll be because they stepped up to the
Lakers and played the way they are capable of.  If ANYONE'S going to choke,
it'll be my Blazers.  Don't laugh!  I've seen it happen!
Just my two cents.
Go Blazers!  Beat LA!
