Looks like Mike Davis has secured the IU job for himself next season.
But that still leaves an interesting line-up of potential openings and
candidates. No telling how they might sort out.

Schools: Michigan, Florida State, UMASS, Louisville, Wisconsin, UNLV.

Rumored coaches: Knight, Pitino, Eustachy, Majerus, Floyd, Braun.

As much as they sucked, FSU is much improved.
I'd give the guy another year m'self.

He did get a McD AA to commit for next year, but whether or not he will
be eligible is a whole other story.

URI's looking for a new head coach as well.  I'm glad they were able to pull
off a win last night for DeGregorio's last night there.

What makes you say that?  Just because the team has done fairly well,
sewing up a top 4 seed in the Big Ten Tournament and a certain NCAA
bid?  And is it just your feeling, or has there been some talk from
the powers that be there?

Davis has recently received avid statements of support and ringing
endor***ts from students, current players, former Knight players, local
and national media, the President of the University, the outgoing A.D.,
and fans and alumni -- in short the entire Bloomington community. Only a
complete flop at Purdue this weekend followed by similar debacles in
opening rounds of the B10 and NCAA tournaments can prevent his being
rehired.
Comment: As of this moment, Davis is more popular in Bloomington than
Steve Alford. But a loss to Purdue tomorrow and ...well...all that can
dramatically change.
