HI rsbf'ers! I posted a couple of weeks ago looking for a source for
MLB transaction rules...
>>transactions this season. I just got the "You Make The Call" book with
>>all the official baseball rules, but it doesn't have anything about the
>>official transaction rules (how many players can be on the DL, the trade
>>deadlines, how the waiver process works, etc.). I would *dearly* love
>>to have a copy of the official rules governing transactions, so I can
>>know more about what's going on. If you have any info on where I can
>>find something like this, please followup to r.s.b.f or email me.
>Those types of rules are contained in the Major League Agreement, which is
>the agreement among all the clubs. I don't know if it's still published,
>but there used to be a book called _The Baseball Blue Book_, that had the
>MLA, among other things. I bought one years ago (~'87) for $40 at Sports
>Books, etc. Their phone number is 703-321-8660. They do mail order.
Sports Books (703-321-8660) doesn't carry it anymore.
I called the National Baseball Library at the Hall of Fame
at (607)547-7200. They said the Blue Book was still available, but it costs
"around a couple hundred dollars". They gave me the source below. I tried to
call them all last week and got a ring but no answer.
