Bowe is eating humble pie these days serving his prison term for ***ping
his family back in '98. After bad advice pleading he had brain damage to
avoid prison he will serve his time and return to boxing yet again. He hopes
to fight Lewis when he returns.

Good Luck Bowe!

Bowe should never again step into the ring.  What the hell's the matter
with you?

That's one of the major problems with professional boxing is that boxers in
Bowe's mental condition are allowed to continue boxing.  I, for one, hope
that he is never allowed to box again although somewhere there is probably a
state commission that will sanction him.

He is 35 years old, only 42 fights, lost one decision, was the only person
to ko Holyfield (in Holy's prime).  Ok Gollotta all I could say is he looked
like shit but the low blows never helped.

Bottom-line give a guy a break let him decide, maybe prison will help him
refocus.

Bowe doesn't have a mental problem, his lawyers made it up to keep him
out of prison. Maybe Lewis vs Bowe will happen someday after all.

What is Bowe's percieved mental illness?  Is he any more or less stable than
Mike Tyson?  Let him fight.

Well Bowe was always stupid but they say he's having problems that are related
to his boxing career, brain damage caused by boxing basically.

If Bowe was to climb back in the ring, it would be a dark day for boxing.

Mentally, he's not there. Slurred speech. Diminished capacity. Slow moving.

No way.

Your just setting him up for a terrible beating. Life's been hard enough on
him. Seeing him end up in a wheelchair like Gerald McClennan is not the way
I want to remember Riddick Bowe.

How about a round-robin with Bowe, Tyson, Oliver McCall, and Ike Ibeabuchi,
on PPV? You and everybody else who hates boxing could buy it. You might as
well watch winos or junkies beat the shit out of each other in an alley.

Here's the pertinent part of this story from the AP:

The 35-year-old Bowe, who took a beating in his last two
fights against Andrew Golota seven years ago, was resentenced last
month to the prison term by a judge who earlier gave him two lighter
sentences because of claims Bowe was brain damaged.

Bowe now says his attorneys made up the brain damage to keep
him out of prison, and that he is both mentally and physically fit
to fight again.

"These cats said he's a fighter, and we can make up this
frontal lobe thing I never heard of before," Bowe said. "In the end,
I will be declared medically fine."

Bowe met Friday with the director of the Nevada Athletic
Commission, armed with copies of recent tests that he said show he
has no mental problems.

Marc Ratner said Bowe will have to be evaluated by the
state's medical advisory board when he gets out of prison before a
decision will be made on whether to license him.

"First he has to serve his time," Ratner said. "We can't
make a decision until he's out of prison."

Good God. Bowe never kapt in shape when he was active. I doubt 7 years in
retirement have boosted his athleticism. He'll get his ass kicked in the
worst way if he comes back. Then again, Bowe is another one that's always
been talk-talk-talk.

His legal problems aside, Bowe has shown signs of suffering from dementia
for a number of years.  Bowe should not be allowed to box again nor should
any boxer who suffers from dementia.
