Remember we only saw 2 rounds against an unproven fighter.  For this
reason, I can only give first impressions; I really haven't seen
enough to have any firm opinions yet.

Entrance: His entrance was ridiculous, as all of you from the UK
warned us, and (as you predicted), I hate him.
Prediction:  I shall enjoy rooting against him for the next few years.

Defense: All that motion, how frustrating for his opponents.  I'm one
of those boxing fans who *loves* defensive brilliance, and for me Naz
will definitely be one to watch.
Prediction:  His defense is sound.

Knockdown: I think the knockdown was due to Naz greatly
underestimating his opponent, not because of any fundamental defensive
problem.  Actually, there might be a fundamental defensive problem: if
he can't find some way to respect his opponent more, and he clowns
around like that with everyone, someone like Barrera or Nelson will
knock him into tomorrow.  However, I suspect he was putting on a show
because he knew his opponent was not in his class.
Prediction:  knockdown due to***iness, won't be repeated soon.

Offense: Not too impressive at first, but again, this is because of
his attitude.  Once he got knocked down, he got down to business, and
looked better.  Some have been interpreting the knockout as Alicea
having a glass jaw, because Naz's right hook looked like an arm punch.
I don't agree -- if that punch was representative, this guy has
amazing power.
Prediction:  He has good solid power, but the jumping around may make
him vulnerable to a good counterpuncher.

Hi Joe,
Just read your posting on Naz and thought it was really well
thought out. We all started out by hating him but he just grows
on you. I should know cos the man is my little brother. We are
trying to get a match with Barrera or Azumah but they always seem to
have a prior commitment (running away ?), I dont think either of them
believes our Naz is an easy challenger.

I'd love to see either fight.  Good fights for Naz.  Azumah brings the
big name, but is just a bit over-the-hill enough to make this kind of
safe.  Barrera is great and I really love watching him fight, but I
have a slightly lower opinion of him than some on this group.  Awesome
though he is, he is beatable.  The winner of Naz/Barrera would make me
a big believer in whoever the winner is.
