HOLYFIELD-TYSON - HOLDING DONE MOSTLY BY TYSON....

Post by Mitch.. » Mon, 11 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I have now viewed the fight 3 times, and my count shows Tyson holding
Holyfield more than Holyfield holding Tyson, by 1:37 over the (almost)
11 rounds. Don't forget to watch the way Tyson cinches his right arm
on Holyfield's left glove and arm. I consider all holding to be on the
part of the initiator, as it should always be.

About those head butts, nobody's fault. Both men lead with their heads
at times, and this time it was actually Tyson leading in, head first.
If you don't agree, then you do not understand boxing. This is not an
opinion, this is a fact.

The low blow WAS a low blow, but it was not intentional and it did not
affect Tyson past the 6th. It did, however, hurt him in that round.

I am a Holyfield fan, not a Tyson fan. However, I believe that Tyson
displayed a great deal of class at the end of the fight. My hat's off
to him. As for Holyfield's tribute to God, well, that is his belief
and I won't take anything away from him for that. Being an agnostic,
well, I can't really make up my mind;<)

I will finish by saying that, if God exists, then Ralph Reed is Satan.
Or Satan could be Pat Buchanan, or Newt Gingrich, or Ronald Regan,
or...Don King? Or...

Geez, I hope that I spelled everyone's name correctly. Wouldn't want
to agitate Satan.

With out a doubt the head ***that Tyson got was his own fault.  Leading way in with his
head, Evander had nothing to do with it (except allowing Tyson to hurt himself).  As for the
low blow, I've watched it in slow motion, and it seems clear that it was just a hard body
shot.  Look where Tyson puts his hand after the shot, right above his belt (he was holding his
nuts).

Hey, person resposible for posted reply, I don't get it. Would you
please explain it to me?

Oh, never mind. Your judgement is probably clouded as such.

Mitch

PS. Remember to duck or feint when someone attempts to punch you in
the head. It certainly will help you.
