Now that was a good fight. I think Jones would have gone on to win
had he not lost his composure, yet Griffin deserves a lot of credit.
Giffin has always been able to handle very good Boxers like Jones.
If you remember he was denied a Gold after Battering and ***ying
a 6ft 5 , 178lb Torsten May in the Olympics. Not bad for a 5ft7
light heavy. He also Upset Jeremy Williams in the Box offs. Who was
also considered a pretty crafty boxer/puncher as a Lightheavy Amateur
I am not positive but i think He also beat John Ruiz in the U.s Championships
in 1990 or 1991. After taking all this into account. I think he Stood a
Chance against the P4P best Boxer/Puncher in the world.
Hopefully there will be a rematch. I still give Jones an Edge, but only because he has more Professional experience, and has more natural talent.
You have to admit, Griffin is and has always been at a disadvantage fighting at 175lbs and only being 5ft 7!!!!!! Not bad against jones, He must have real long arms.
