Frank Maloney - "Price wasn't knocked out"

Maloney, as he headed home, revealed that Price had suffered not so much a
good old-fashioned knock-out as a perforated eardrum.

He explained: 'This was a freak stoppage. Contrary to most reports David was
not decked by a shot to the chin or the temple.

'That right hook hit him flush on the ear and you could tell the ear-drum
had been perforated because water came spurting out.

'That had an adverse effect on his balance which caused him to tip over and
then stopped him steadying himself as he got to his feet.

I think that's a concussion, Price lost control of his arms and legs, that's
not the result of a perforated eardrum.

From 5:35, slow-mo replays from 7:12

Hmmm - didn't see any ear-drum fluid spurting in the video, but since he'll allegedly be out of training for 12 weeks to allow the organ to heal, I suppose there may be some truth to Maloney's claim. Who knows?

Once again Maloney finds himself "trying to make a controversy out of a
catastophe" much as he did with Lennox Lewis vs Ollie McCall. Stop trying to
tell us the world is somehow different Frank, Price got decked and
lost........
