It's about time that we are seeing some good judging. And by the way, Guinn
is the best of the 4 guys I've seen so far. he is a force to be reckoned
with for the futurre. And man, what a set of whiskers!

I was quite impressed with Guinn and Dokiwari.  Guinn is small for a
heavyweight, but unlike Chris Byrd he brings a pretty good snappy punch.  He
clearly takes a good shot as well.  And Dokiwari maybe won't ever be
Heavyweight Champion but with his look he surely could be cast in the role
of a monster in the movies.

Best 2 fighters of the night. Either of them can go quite far if they keep
their act together.

I say Gomez against Mesi would be a good next round eliminator. Guinn and
Dokiwari can both move on to better things.

I agree basically.  Guinn in my view is already a top 10 contender and could
be ready to challenge whomever the World Champion is in one year.  Dokiwari
has nothing to be ashamed of either.

I actually like Gomez's performance over all... considering how inactive
he's been...

Gomez is wide open to right hands.  That will be fatal when he moves up in class
a bit.

Sam usually called Gomez on the phone, sent an engraved invitation, yelled
'yoo-hoo-here it comes!' and followed up with an 'are you ready?' before
throwing his right hands.  And a lot of them still hit Gomez flush.

You may well be right Mike and it may be a "habit" born of the fact he's
typically moving back and the blows are not hitting concussively... and he's
been known to have a brick of a chin... that too may chance as you wisely
suggest when he gets thrashed by a 240 something heavy leaning into a right
hand bomb... then again some guys just have great beards, they are few but,
Gomez and all of us will know soon enough for the very reasons you note Mike
:)

If Gomez had fought someone with a bit of speed, hand and afoot, he'd have
gotten his ass stopped, IMO.  Gomez fights like an amateur.  I was very
unimpressed with his punching and his conditioning.
