Tito Wants Oscar Again...at 160, no less!!

Tito says he'll fight Oscar knowing full well that he is the larger
fighter. "It must be at 160 pounds...not a pound less!" Tito Trinidad
said with characteristic aplomb.

"Felix Trinidad said yesterday that he is considering taking a fight
against Oscar De La Hoya. "I never have avoided a fight with him. Six
times an offer was made to him and cowardly, he never signed them. But
the last one is on the table," Tito told El Nuevo Dia. "He knows my
conditions and he knows who my promoter is -- and it must be at 160
pounds. That is my weight. Not a pound less." Trinidad also angerly
denied that there have been talks between he and Oscar in regard to
making that fight. "I have not spoken with him nor I have authorized to
anybody to speak with him in my name," he said. "Since 1999 (the year
of their first fight), I have only spoken with De La Hoya three times.
One was in Miami, another one in Los Angeles, and, third, in the last
fight that was in the Choliseo -- and he never said to me that he
wanted to fight me. We have spoken of other things, of his boxers, but
never did he say to me 'Tito, I want to fight.' But, knowing that I am
retired, he has been saying he wants to fight me, cowardly - because I
don't know what other word to use. He has been using me to promote his
fights."

Uh, no responses for a Tito-Oscar rematch. Maybe I should tell this to
Oscar and have re-consider this fight.

The real truth is that Teat-O has been afraid to fight ever since he
was beaten up and humiliated by Bernard Hopkins.

You see, in this world there are two kinds of people, my friend: those
who watch pros and those who watch amateurs.

He should have retired after Hopkins. I don't want to see him in the
ring again - for his sake.

Normally, they don't.  Only watch the boxers I know from the
amateurs and we do still go to the Marriott.  Would I PPV for a bout
between Oscar and Tito?  No.  Might I watch it for free?  Possibly.
Yes, I do like the lighter weights.  And we did buy Mosley-Vargas 2
just so I could watch Shane wipe Fernando all over the canvas, but
that was a personal thing.

Hey! don't knock it. If I could remember any big time names, I'd be
bouncin' them all over the place.

Most of them never know when to quit. Lennox Lewis knew. Michael Spinks
knew. Kostya Tszyu knew. Even Hagler had one fight too many. IMO Oscar and
Tito should both quit now.

I agree. Oscar can't beat Mayweather and Trinidad is clearly washed up.

Even though both can still be somewhat contender worthy, is it really worth
the risk of thier health? I don't think so.

Donn - Insanity is just jealous because he doesn't personally
know any "names."  About the only thing we have in common is that be
both despise and abhore Pedro Fernandez.

Over the years, the name Pedro Fernandez keeps popping up here and
there. I don't know him or anything about him. He sure has got some
folks wrinkled up a bit.

I don't understand. So losing to Hopkins and Wright means you are
washed up?

Any version of Tito would lose to those two.
