I'd like a comparison between Hercules tips and
Talisman tips.
Thank you

I believe Tony will tell you they are the same tips, made in the same
location, and I've found them to be pretty much interchangeable.

I'm pretty sure Tailsman make the Hercules tips and the difference may
just be in quality control or something.  I used Tailsman Pro hard and
loved it, now have a Tailsman Pro Medium, and love it.  If the medium
holds up as long as the hard, I think it is a coin toss on which to
use.  My guess is the Hercules and Moories are about the same, but I
never used either of those.  I think what ever tip lasts the longest and
cost the least is the best tip to use.  Durability is important, because
you don't want your tip continuously changing shape, and you don't want
to be changing tips all the time, which will occur if you are
continuously grinding it into shape, and otherwise fussing with it.

If you are saying that Mori and Hercules play about the same, then that may
be true. However, Hercules are made from pig skin and Mori is made from
cowhide.

I've always heard that Mooris are pigskin, and they look like pigskin
to me.

Well Pat, how did you become such an expert on pigskin?  Spend a lot of time
BEHIND one???

Sorry, just couldn't pass that one up!

I'm saying most all tips play the same.  Some are more durable than
others.  For jumping and possibly breaking, tips may not be the same,
but for normal shooting, the differences are very minor compared to
everything else going on.  I haven't used every tip made though, so I
could be wrong.  To me, the most important thing for a tip is it's
shape.  Other than that, I don't notice much difference.  I miscue, and
get spin the same with super hard layered tips as I do with LePro.  When
I'm playing good, my tip is great, when I'm not, I'm too dumb to blame
it on my tip...

Are you sure about this? When I first started getting the Mori's from Richard
L. of Best Billiards (who had the exclusive on Moris imported in US at the
time) , I'm pretty sure he told me the Moris were pig skin also! I've been
under this assumption for many years!

A moori looks exactly like pigskin, and unless Mr. Moori has found some really different
cowhide, I will have to assume they ARE pigskin.

Thanks - I stand corrected! I was given a couple of the Mori tips several
years ago while on the pro tour and I (apparently misremembered) their
construction and material. I played with both tips and did appreciate the
way they played. I currently play with Hercules hard and love it.
