Yeah, I guess it's time for my annual post...  or am I up to 2 a year now?
It's been so long I can't even remember.

Moving right along....

I was reluctant to fork over the $$ for this initially because I figured it
would be a typically shitty little webcast that would serve only to separate
me from 9.95 of my hard-earned dollars.  Well, thanks to RSB and the
excellent reports therein I gave it a shot today and was VERY pleasantly
surprised.  I'm not generally a fan of 1P action but the 2 matches I watched
today have been terrific!

I also enjoyed Danny D's and Mark Wilson's commentary, especially hearing
some of the interesting stories from DD.  His little anecdote about playing
my fellow (now-displaced) Okie*** Lane in straight pool was great but I
sure wish he'd expounded on his matchup with Norman Hitchcock that he
briefly mentioned.  That had to be in the early 70's when*** was in school
here at OU and Norman was at the top of his game.  Mark's commentary was
easy to listen to, usually insightful and always intelligent.  He seems to
be the same on-air as he is in person.  I've never played pool with him but
have sat in the same poker game with him on a few occasions when I was
working in St. Louis.  He was always a very pleasant guy to speak to in my
encounters with him and certainly carries a good reputation.

Anyway, thanks RSB for nudging me in the ***to pony up the $$ to view this
gem!

Next year, try it for the entire week!  My problem coming up will be
withdrawals!  I've gotten used to booting up my computer in the mornings,
pulling email, then logging on.  I love the sound of the balls in the
background when it first logs in.  What the hell am I going to do next week?

Actually, I'll be headed for SoCal for a couple days, so it should be in the
60's or 70's there too.  Good thing, because winter is supposed to hit here
again on Monday.

Nah, I've got plenty of ice already...

(When you catch ice, do you put it on fish?)

Damn, it's quiet here without the sound of the balls and the background
noise!  I might be willing to buy that!
