Karen Corr's chalk thingy?

Post by Dave » Fri, 08 Aug 2003 03:00:52

I saw a rerun on ESPN of the 9-ball match between Karen Corr and Allison
Fisher.  Karen's chalk holder looked like it attached with a magnet to a
clip on her belt.  Is that how it works?  Where can I get one?

Almost anywhere... try some of the on-line retailers like Meullers,
Internet Cue Store. Your local Billiards supply store will have it.

I had one but I have such a magnetic personality that it kept sticking
to places where I couldn't easily find it and I had to buy new ones
all the time...

Must be a very long-haired -- and lumpy -- hamster to lose those
things all over one's body. Wouldn't they show up when you showered?
Or you'd notice the water turning blue, or find it uncomfortable when
you sat down?

Aah, he's an *IBM* hamster. Probably just absorbs the blue and
becomes...Bigger Blue.

Dave,
I think you're talking about the little magnetic chalk holder where the chalk goes in a little vinyl
holder that has a piece of metal on it. I don't think that is what Karen Corr has, she has something
that is like a little leather pocket just the right size for a chalk. She wears it on her waistband
or belt or something. I've seen something like it on the net, but not the exact same thing.
Steve. <- sorry no nickname, though I have been called a lot of things.

When I shot at one of the Viking Tour events they had a nice selection of
goodies for sale and that was among them.

postion them where you want on your belt.

I think the item you're looking for is called "The Ultimate Chalker".
Here is a link that has a decent photo (don't know anything about the
site, just posting the link for the photo), but if you go to google
and search on "ultimate chalker", you'll find a ton of sites selling
it. It usually goes for around $15.

I've got one, and love it. The magnet is very strong, and the small
clip that holds the bottom of the chalk is easily tightened by
squeezing the sides. The small clip also keeps it out of the way and
doesn't interfere with the chalk end like some of the clips with only
a hole in the top.

On the other hand, the last time I saw Karen, she didn't have a
magnetic thingy on her belt. It was a pouch.

Karen uses a pouch attached to her belt, so does Julie Kelly.   It seems to
work very well, even thou I saw her miss the pouch once...   It also appears
that when they bend over for a shot it would fall out of the pouch, but I've
never witnessed such.

Either Karen or Julie will sell you one....  They seem to always have a few
readily available....
