I'm still looking for a cue.  I like some of the McDermott's, but still find
myself being drawn to Lucasi cues when I see them.  The one above is typical
of what I like, a linen wrap, light wood end shaft, and inlaid points,
somewhat like a Palmer design.

What is your opinion of Lucasi, and is there an equal brand that I might
look at, or even one that is better for the same money?

I was really impressed and surprised by the hit of this cue. It was solid, firm but it was not overpowering. It held chalk weli and have good action on cue ball. I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I like McDermott, but I have seen a couple of six point Lucasis that were
very attractive.  Besides, I have a pair of Lucasi boots.

I have no opinion on Lucasi cues because I have not tried one but a cue does not hold chalk.
A tip does and any tip can be put on any cue.  Similarly, "action on cue ball" is also mostly
a function of the tip.

Regarding  lucasi hybrid slim shaft 11.75mm---I found the taper of the shaft has a special slim line taper. If anyone knew a bit more about slim line taper that would be great!
