Warning U.S. Open results - Earl Strickland typical behavior at U.S. Open

I just finished watching Strickland vs. Souquet at the U.S. Open.  I
have read debates about his behavior over the years here on RSB.  This
match was Earl at his worst.  During the entire match he sat in his
chair with his head down (not watching Souquet shoot).  I guess this is
because Souquet plays too slow for his liking.  On one instance Souquet
scratched but Earl wasn't paying attention so he shot the cue ball were
it was laying after approaching the table.  A few racks later he had
ball in hand, dropped the cue ball on the table and continued to miss
the one ball.

His behavior really took away from the fact that Ralph Souquet played
an awesome match.

I can't believe anyone would sponsor this guy!

5 time world champion, that is why.  He's been one of the top 3 for a
decade, could that be why also?  He hides his red dot under the white
coating and sells a zillion lousy cues I call fire wood, could that be
the other reason????

Good point.

A better way for me to have put it would have been to say, "If I was
his sponsor I would be upset that he's not giving it his all."

He simply gave up.  He's one of the best in the world and he threw in
the towel.  Then Souquet began to give him an opening, but it was to
late.
