questions about BACK HAND ENGLISH

THIS post is ddirected to tony mathews or any one else who uses bhe. i
do not care if you agree or disagree ijust would like to get some
info. I was reading some of your post on rsb i myself use bhe and have
done many test on my own before ever reading rsb i was taught it by an
old japanese guy. Well just wondered if you still use it and if i
could ask some questions about your research. Personally i used a
different test to see where i needed to bridge i bought one of those
ghost ball aimers and lined up a thin cut so i knew that my aim was on
every time i used the thin cut because it seems to eliminate the throw
pretty much. Then i took a pencil and made marks on my shaft in 1/2
inch increments shot shot after shot useing an average speed until i
could make the shot with a tip of inside or outside english. Now i
know that at a medium speed i can use bhe and pot shots and get shape.
When i shoot harder it does squirt . but it only squirts probably half
as much as using parrellel english wich for me has made shooting all
shots with english easier btw when im on the rail or over a ball and
need a real short bridge with english i use parrelell and guess how
much its gonna squirt. i think the biggest benefit has been lineing up
center ball on every shot i feel i have become a better shomaker
because of this i used to have a habit of missing shots without
english because i got used to the compensation needed with paralell
english btw i use aim and pivot not swooping at the last second

i was wondering if anyone here has used backhand emglish for any
particular length of time, how long have you used it, during your
stroke or the aim and pivot method. and do you think it has helped you
become a better player

For a diagram of backhand english see (for the next couple of weeks)

As I pointed out in that article, you need to be aware of all the
problems of backhand english if you want to be consistent with
it.  Most of the players who use it that I've seen, are unaware
of the problems that can come up.
