Used Table wanted in Boston

Post by mer.. » Tue, 13 Aug 1996 04:00:00

We are looking for a used table for our new house.  Nothing fancy,
maybe an old bar table...Just something to play on.  We are moving 9/1
and would like to be able to use the truck we rented to pick it up.
Any suggestions please post.

Unless you plan to put it in the garage,  I'd be a bit more selective
about something which will take up more real estate (at least five feet
clear space in all directions--including up--from the perimeter and bed of
the table) in your home than any single other item.  If you become
dissatisfied or bored with it, it's gonna look uglier and uglier everytime
you look at it.

While I'm mentioning "Unlesses," unless you are experienced in
transporting and setting up a pool table or don't mind ruining it, don't
do it yourself.

Bottom line:  If you're serious about playing pool and you want to enjoy
having a home table, don't skimp on space or quality.  Getting a good used
table may be a reasonable economical measure, but PLEASE don't move it
yourself.
