Anyone got any opinions on Talisman tips vs. the rest of the tips that
get discussed here?

Thanks

John.

Some are fine, some shred as they are turned down.

Been using these fine tips for over a year, they keep their shape and don't
mushroom. I use the "pro hard" on my Joss and Meucci cues

I have now installed almost 300 of these tips with only 1 tip
delaminating. That 1 tip was a med. and most of the ones that I have
installed have been either the hard or the x-hard. You must use a very sharp
tool to trim them down to ferrule size so as not to create to much heat.

I'm using the medium layered on both my Predators and my Cuetecs, and the
hard layered on my Schuler Pros.  They are great tips, and hold their shape
well.

I have used the "H" pig skin talisman and love it .
I emailed talisman an asked about their other tips and ordered some "m" and
they sent me examples of the other tips that they make for free .
when i wear my morrie out i'm going to put a  talisman on  (sorry about the
spelling) but i'm a pool player not a school teacher

Thanks for all the responses.

How do I determine which hardness?

I currently am using the tip that came with my schon and have no idea
what it is.  I think its a hard tip as I can break with it and it does not
seem to mushroom.  That being said I have always got as much english
as I wanted.  I could do with a little more draw at times though ;-)

Thanks

John.

You might want to try either the Pro hard or WB hard. Schon uses a water
buffalo tip which is a hard tip.

Talisman Tips

Best tips I ever used, last long, play fine, not too over-priced.  I
never used a Mori tip though.  I will not use a non-layered tip again
though, I think a layered tip is a must as far as durability goes, and
that to me is the most important aspect of a tip.  Every tip I've ever
used on my cue, including super cheap ones, play about the same if
shaped and chalked the same.  How long they stay in shape is the
important issue I believe.  The chalk and shape keep them from slipping
on the CB, hardness doesn't seem to matter.  They all hold chalk long
enough to make a shot, so, chalk up EVERY shot, not every other or third
shot.

Talisman Tips

I have been using talisman tips almost exclusively for quite a while now. Best tip for the $
IMO. They tend to be on the firm side, so I use a lot of mediums. the hard and extra hard
are only for those that like a very hard tip.
