My first two piece cue

My first two piece cue

It was 1964, my dad had opened a room with all Brunswick tables.  One day he
gave me a round black tube.  I opened it and almost paased out for two reasons,
the tube was treated with formaldihide and it was a Brunswick Hoppe.  I put the
cue togeather and I don't think I missed a ball that day.  That was probably my
first love, hell I wanted to bring it home and sleep with it.  A few years
later I missed a shot that cost me a tourney.  I did the bad thing and broke
the shaft to my prized cue.  Double torture, at that time I couldn't just get a
replacement.  I couldn't play with another Hoppe.  I ordered a Palmer with 6
shafts, I had one to break with, one to play with a short one for bar tables
where the cue hit the back wall, one for every occasion.  I kept that cue
untill 1969 when I retired for 24 years from the game.  I have a collection of
old cues from the masters, my favorite a Harvey Martin.  If I live to be 100 I
would kill just to have that first Hoppe back.  Thank you Dad where ever you
are.
