TALLADEGA, AL -- The Superkarts! USA North American ProMoto Tour will make
its first visit to the revamped Talladega Grand Prix road race facility
this coming weekend (Apr. 21-23) for the second round of its East Coast
Atlantic Zone schedule. The shifterkart national championship visit also
marks the first occasion that a long track as been used for a ProMoto Tour
event, thanks to Talladega's extended 1.3 mile layout. The Tour normally
runs on shorter sprint tracks (under one mile) although this new challenge
has added an interesting and exciting wrinkle to the program. The track
has been lengthened and completely repaved for the upcoming season and its
higher speeds will make horsepower and drafting crucial in the quest for
success in Alabama.

Baroda, MI's Chris Lobaugh currently sits tied for the ProMoto Tour points
leads heading into the Talladega round thanks to a *** victory in the
opening event of the Atlantic Zone series held in Jacksonville, FL in
early March. Lobaugh is deadlocked with Phoenix, AZ's Alan Rudolph atop
the charts after the veteran driver won the first stop of the West Coast
SKUSA Pacific Zone program. Lobaugh and Rudolph had identical weekends,
both qualifying third before sweeping the remainder of their events. With
four races in the east and four in the west enroute to the head-to-head
Millennium World Finals shootout in Norman, OK in September, these two
drivers have definitely jumped out to a championship contending start to
the new season.

Wisconsin's Bobby Wilson (Trackmagic) and Florida's Andrew Lewis (Birel)
finished second and third in the Zone opener and should also be major
factors this weekend. The field for the pro Shift Kart Formula S1 class
should be extremely strong thanks to the expected participation by several
of the West Coast declared drivers. A handful of top Texans are planning
to attend the event, namely top ranked pilots Trevor McAlister and Kyle
Martin. Although their entry into the event will not affect the points
situation, their success on the track will surely begin a rivalry between
the two separate Zones.

Qualifying begins on Saturday morning and the feature events are scheduled
for Victory Sunday afternoon. News and results live from the track will be
available throughout the weekend at www.skusaonline.com.
