Wonder what is going on with MG & John Judd these days?

Funny, but you may remember all the hoopla and cheering for John Judd
and MG around these newsgroups not so very long ago. Praises for Judd
and his commitment to F/CART. MG lauded for becoming a long term
"partner" with F/CART for perhaps decades to come, and using F/CART to
build its presence in the States and internationally. AR1 reporting
that MG would be the sponsor of F/CART's grand new event in China
(whatever happened to F/CART racing n China, BTW?). Loads and loads
(and the pun is intended) about MG and John Judd, day after day.

Now, nothing. Not a peep.

Shoved aside. Forgotten.

Small engine manufacturer and small company makes multi-million dollar
commitment to F/CART, and then gets shafted by Pooknocchio. Judd and
MG hang their collective arses out on the line and what do they get?
Screwed, blued, and tattooed.

And now you never hear a thing about them or their passing from the
CARTisan CHUMPS, as though they never existed.

Not much loyalty or gratitude from the CARTisans. Of course, that's
the norm if you just look at the current situation.

Once praised Honda leaves F/CART, now hated and reviled by the
CARTisans.

Same with Toyota.
Same with Penske.
Same with Marlboro.
Same with Andretti.
Same with Franchitti.
Same with Ganassi.
Same with Target.
Same with Fed-Ex.

Remember that folks: A CARTisan CHUMP is only a fair weather friend.
Make a decision where you have to leave F/CART, even if it simply a
business-based one that they themselves would make if in your shoes,
and you will suddenly be turned upon, scorned, hated, reviled,
insulted, chastised, flamed, and called a traitor.

How quickly they forget all someone may have done for them and F/CART
in their tenure there.

There would not be an F/CART today if it were not for Roger Penske,
but does that matter? Nope. He is still hated and scorned by
CARTisans.

Toyota and Honda poured MILLIONS into F/CART both technically and
promotionally, to the point of even keeping some teams alive, but does
that matter? Nope. Not to a CARTisan. To them its "What have you done
for me lately?"

Fed-Ex not only sponsored the series, but even helped make F/CART's
overseas races possible. Does that matter or bring even a tiny bit of
gratitude from the CHUMPS? Not on your life. Instead you see them say
"Good riddance" or "Makes room for F/CART to get a decent carrier!"

Be careful with these CARTisans, ladies and gentlemen. Be wary of
trusting them. They will perhaps like you, but ONLY if you do exactly
as they want you to. Shift your business position, and they WILL turn
on you.

What is it with all of your obsessing over this - not only in this post, but
others?

Nice to hear from you, Fred.

All CART teams will be racing Cosworth Turbocharged 2.65L engines next
year.

The Judd/MG program was cancelled when CART's plan to use 3.5L N.A.
engines was changed in favor of the turbos.
Judd has experience w/V10 engines, and may be back in 2005.

Enjoy the races!

You know,

I have to applaud this post, and its reply.

One gets it, the other doesn't.The voice of reason has maintained its
position, and continually is hammered, just like all the IRL faithful were
in the beginning.

As much as I hate to see Cart become where it was driven(forgive the pun)it
has happened. Dirt nap? no, just another version of the Atlantics.***on
history, including your own in Cart, Pook and all the new faces are better
than those leaving ever were. That is the faceless dribble occurring here.
Blaming Tony George is about the stupidest thing I have ever seen.
Applauding Cart comes in second.

Get real folks,
Enjoy the racing. Right now, one group has a viable series, the other, a
shadow of its former self.

I don't recall anyone ever omitting these people from discussions of past
events in which they were involved.

Only those who forgave them for walking out on Williams with a year left
on their contract after they won the championship. The rest of us were
always suspicious and distrusting of them.

Of course, a lot of these guys and companys were hated while they were
still in CART. Penske's been gone a year and was far from universally
loved by the fans.   Unless you want to go back before 2001 there is no
need to bring him up. Andretti,  has always had more distractors than
fans. Being in CART never made a tobacco company the least bit endearing
to me. Although I don't have any bad feelings against Fed Ex, I've never
used them.

And the lower level IRL teams he's displaced.

Same attitude Toyota and Honda have always had, so it that being unfair or
cruel for the fans to act the same? Now they will spend most of their
season hawking their wares in front of a poor CART qualifying size crowd.

Trans ocean transport has been around for about 500 years. Fed Ex was
convienient, but hardly the only way to ship the series overseas.
Besides, the promoter pays for shipping, not CART or Fed Ex. Even without
any sponsorship involvement Fed Ex would likely have been the
transportation.

Sure, even those who were disliked the most warrant "a tiny bit" of gratitude.
