Headlines
- Due to safety reasons, the Organisers have decided to cancel
  the Starting Ramp Ceremony that was scheduled at San Martn
  Square, Crdoba Downtown prior to the start of the first stage
  of the day (SS2).
- Burns incurred a 20 second penalty following the service before
  SS2. The reason was that the car was damaged after the big jump
  of SS 1 & they changed the intercooler, the water radiator and
  the sump guard.
- Thiry retires on SS7 with no oil pressure
- Burns is experiencing handling problems
- general opinion is that there are a lot of spectators on the stages,
  but they are well controlled.

- weather is currently 23 deg C (74F) and sunny/partly cloudy
  conditions are bing forecast for Friday & Saturday

- longest stage of rally
- Makinen: He hit a rock (left by another car, he thinks) on
  a corner. The front left tyre might be broken  
- Liatti: He went off the road and he nearly overturned 5 Km
  before the end of the special.
- McRae: He had little problems with 2 or 3 people who were
  standing quite close to the road.  The rest was O.K.

Stage 8  La Cumbre-Agua de Oro          23.67 km    
Start Time:
- McRae: There so many spectators but this time very well placed.
  What is really making me upset are the helicopters that are
  flying very low provoking clouds of dust as if I had a car in
  front of me.
- Burns: They are having problems handling the car.
- Kankkunen: The ground is a little hard for the tyres they chose to use.
- Auriol: He is very pleased with his time. The stage is a little
  bit rough but the car is going well.
- Liatti: "I'm finding the ground a little bit harder than in the
  previous stage".
