As someone has already posted 'CART is gonna get their asses sued off'

You Yanks don't arf like to 'MOAN'
Driver safety is the issue here and all you want to F**king do is moan moan
moan.
Most of us lesser mortals from the UK would gladly pay to go to one of the
many speedway courses you have and pay hundreds of just for the
pleasure of seeing one...
FFS its only a few hundred bucks you lost out on....
you should be getting behind CART to make sure it doesn't DIE off, and not
slag it off or 'SUE IT'S ASS OFF'

Couldn't agree more. Just approaching the California Speedway from the
Interstate and see the huge grandstand gave me nice goosebumps, not
even starting to describe the feeling of getting inside.

Well, I didn't understand half of what you said, but I'll tell you what....

Since you obviously wouldn't have been upset if it was your money gone down
the toilet, why don't you refund my $400 and I'll send you video and
pictures of TMS?

How do you feel about that?  Kind of like getting nothing for something
isn't it???

I know that feeling - it hit me as I flew over Daytona on the way to
Orlando. Luckily enough I got to go back and have a closer look a couple
of days later...

Well, let's see.  I spent $100 for a ticket.  About $70 for gas and another
$100+ for a hotel.  Add in food at the track, miscellaneous expenses, etc.,
and I spent over $400 to see the race.

Now what are my options?  If they cancel the race, I get a $100 back.  Still
leaves me out $300 for absolutely nothing in return.  If they "reschedule"
the race, my only option is to eat all $400, or tack on an ADDITIONAL $300
or so to get back to Ft Worth, get a hotel, etc, etc, etc.

Would you like those options?  I don't think you would and I certainly
don't.

I think CART owes us for tickets, but the other expenses are simply the risk
you take. You will never get that money back.

Could have had the same result if it had rained,....

But it didn't rain and what happened was not an act of God, it was an
act of an poorly managed business.

Funny, I was just watching BBC world news the other day and the reporters
were decrying the litigious nature of British society. Something about
"No-win No-Fee" Lawyers.

My hope is that they reschedule for the road course and give us free food
and souveniers to compensate. A person can dream, afterall...

The "risk" I take?  What risk?  I was willing to risk the money on an oval
if it was cancelled due to rain.  It wasn't.  It was canceled because CART's
management team are idiots and they didn't due their job PRIOR to arriving
at TMS.

To expect the fans to pay for their incompetence is utter nonsense.

The only thing CART can do that will appease me, other than refund my
travel-related costs to TMS, is to provide free tickets to my home race in
Houston and some sort of VIP passes.

I suggest you read the fine print.

"The holder of this ticket assumes all risk INCIDENTAL TO THIS RACING EVENT
and agrees that all race participants, sanctioning bodies, and all
employees, agents, officers, and directors of Texas Motor Speedway are
hereby released from any and all such injuries, damages, or claims arising
from this event."

You took a risk by spending money to travel, etc. TMS sold you a ticket for
the race. Nobody asked you to travel, rent rooms, buy meals, etc. I agree it
doesn't seem fair, but that's the facts of life.

You will never get collateral damages except by the goodwill of CART, and
that won't happen either.

I submit that you will never be appeased.

It's no consolation but you have my sympathy.
