A strong contingent of USAC's "Thunder & Lightning"
National Sprint Car stars will head East this weekend for landmark events
in the series. Friday night's race at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver,
Pa. is the first ever at that 1/2-mile dirt oval and the first in the
Keystone State since a 1999 race at Franklin. Saturday night's race at
Canandaigua (N.Y.) Speedway is also the first at that 1/ 2-mile dirt oval
and the first in the Empire state in more than a quarter-century. Greg
Leffler won the last USAC Sprint race in New York at the Hamburg
Fairgrounds in 1978.
