All times in EST. Figure I would post since people are
having a tough time figuring out the website at times. The
stream isn't too bad so far, though I guess we will see if
the streaming can handle the increased strain  of men's
semis coming up.

This announcing is amazing. The ripping and the tearing, the
ripping and the tearing.

The stream itself is quite good visually. Plenty of
bandwidth and solid camera angles. The announcing is beyond
amateur. The play-by-play guy is just trying to cram in
every phrase he's ever heard on SportsCenter and only knows
about three players per team without slowly checking his
roster, and the color commentator isn't bringing much to the
table.

The announcers are kind of awful, "running away from cops
speed". Really?

In any case, the womens 2nd semi-final is coming up:
Michigan vs Oregon in about 10 minutes.

Night and day between the Iowa/CUT announcers and the
Michigan/Oregon women's game. Looks like they finally got
the A team out of bed.

Wow, these announcers are so much better. It is like they
are just about pros at this.

The difference seems to be that these are actual altgames
announcers while before were amateur announcers. Video crew
is also better with replays. Can't wait for the next mens
semi game and the finals tomorrow if this is the sort of
quality we can expect.

There is even dead space on the live feed accounting for
commercial time.

I think that the USAU should hold a contest next year and
whoever wins gets to announce college nationals so that
whoever wins can see they'll do just as shitty job as every
other person who does it. Seriously everyone ***es every
single year about it. At least this guy knows practically
every player on each roster and the play by play is really
not that bad. It's college nationals not the NFL. Amateur
sports get amateur announcers. Deal with it.

I just started watching the live streams during the Michigan-Oregon
women's semifinal. The presentation is INCREDIBLE by typical ultimate
standards. You could argue that "typical ultimate standards" aren't
very high, but regardless this is imminently watchable. Fantastic
announcers, great video quality, good camera angles, quick instant
reply shots, the works. I'm going to watch the second men's semi with
my wife (not an ultimate player, minimal exposure to live ultimate) to
see what a non-player, non-fan thinks about it.

Hats off to USAU and CBS. This is how ultimate should always look.

Actually, if they held a contest where you had sent in a
video of yourself doing a play by play of an ultimate game
and the best video got to do the commentary, they would
probably do pretty well.

Yeah your right. I was thinking of a random drawing in my
mind. Your way would work if your focusing on getting the
best qualified announcer. I was thinking more along the
lines of getting one of the people who ***es on hear every
year about how much the announcing sucks to do it and
laughing hysterically while they make an ass out of
themselves.

I haven't been able to get any of the streams working. I press play
but the screen stays black. I saw a "loading" graphic once but that's
the closest I've been. Anyone else having similar problems?

It was Adblock. Adding a CSTV exception fixed it.
