Allegheny Trail for Uni?

Allegheny Trail for Uni?

Post by abridge » Mon, 05 May 2008 02:30:06

Recently saw an article about the Allegheny Trail that runs from
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Cumberland, Maryland on about 150 miles of
paved or hard-packed trails through forests and wilderness.  I went on
line and found a website:  www.atatrail.org

It looks like a great ride.

Has anyone unicyled it?  How was it?  Would you recommend it to others?

That looks like a pretty epic ride if coupled with the 'C&O Canal'
(http://bikewashington.org/canal/index.php) that leads into it. Might
be doing that summer before Senior year for the now mandatory
Graduation Project.

There is a rider from ***ia that started out today from Pittsburgh on
that trail.  He will ride to Cumberland and then follow the C&O C***
towpath to D.C.  I'm sure you get a nice review of his ride next week.
