Roach Unicycle Bag

Roach Unicycle Bag

I know that a lot of people took delivery of their Roach Unicycle Bags just
before heading to China. How do you like them? Would you use them (with some
padding) when checking your uni on a plane?

A little product review would help me make up my mind.

Thanks,

Roach Unicycle Bag

Thanks to UnicycleSource getting them overnighted from Roach, I received
3 of these bags a few hours before leaving for the airport.  I got two 24s
and
a 26.  A large Telford w/24x3.0 tire or two Miyatas (20 & 24) fit in a 24"
bag.
Coming back, Beau's new 4' 20" giraffe fit in the 26" bag with a 24" regular
Miyata.
The carrying strap is nice, and the pedal pocket is great.  They're a little
expensive
maybe, but really nice.

You can just take off the pedals and drop the uni in the bag.  But I did a
little
bit of padding in addition: wrapped an old sock around the cranks, put a
kneepad
on the seat handle, and wrapped my Roach leg armor around the stays of the
Telford (my best idea yet).  It may not be nuclear bombproof, but it's
robust
enough for normal air travel.  We had no trouble at all on the flight to and
from
China.

Checking in at San Francisco was simple although I had to sign a waiver for
damages.  Checking in at Beijing, there was no waiver, but I had to put the
3 bags through the oversized luggage check-in.  They are big enough that
they
don't come through with the regular luggage, but arrived separately, at the
same
time, so it was no problem.

Roach Unicycle Bag

Hi,

Some product review from my Roach Bag: In general I
really like it.  One thing I'll probably add to it is
a flexible plastic sheet that covers the area of the
bag where the hub/axle contacts the fabric- I'm
getting wear in this area.

I was really glad to have it in China, I packed both the Uni and bag in my
suitcase on the way, but had to use the bag to get home due to the extra
Chinese ***I bought. Oh I also had to stuff it with clothes to make more room
in my suitcase, it can hold a lot, Bruce even brought back a rug in his.
