Thanks to all who contributed advice re bike shorts, unicycle seats, etc!  
We'll report back.  Where are good U.S. sources for decent bike shorts?

Any advice on freemounting?  My kids are great at it....they make it look
effortless, but don't seem to be able to articulate what makes it work for
them.  I find it terrifying to attempt. I can ride a quarter mile, tho' now
without falling off!  Great thigh workout!

The description is a bit lengthy and doing it this way won't make it
look effortless initially, but that's a matter of getting routine.
