Please pardon my ignorance, but I am confused...

I always viewed anything that turned half way around so that it was
pointed in the opposite direction as something that had done a 180.  A
complete revolution would be a 360 then.  Being a mathematician:p, I
know that 360+360=720.  Therefore, I would think that this competition
would be to spin the unicycle around *2 *complete revolutions(4 half
spins).

Maybe this is just one area in life to which geometry does not carry
over.:(

The name of the trick is a 180 unispin (or 360, etc.), but recently
people have started to abbreviate it because the name is long and it
sounds bad.

I know I'd rather say "Three-spin" than "Three-six-ty-u-ni-spin" but
that's just me.
And you wouldn't call it a 140 unless it spun 140 degrees, which isn't
really possible because on a unicycle unispins differ by 90
degrees...pedals to tire to pedals, etc.

Why call it a 180 then? Why not a 140. Or a one, for that matter.:p  In
geometry, when you go half way around a circle, it is 180 degrees.  The
whole way around would be 360. A 180 degree angle is a straight line.

I am not trying to be argumentative for the sake of argument.:)
