Other unicycling apparel/products

Post by Gilb » Sat, 26 Jan 2002 08:05:25

The thread I started about getting more unicyclist.com t-shirts sparked some ideas for other products, so I am wondering what kind of products you would like? Here are some ideas: hats, shorts (and cycling shorts), cycling jerseys, socks, jackets, boxers, stickers, keychains, dress shirts, beach towels, mugs/steins, gym bags, mousepads,  etc.

Anyways, I'd be interested in what there is demand for. The main problem with making products like t-shirts (and most other unicycling products) is that theres not much demand for it since unicycling isn't that big of a sport and usually you need to get them made up in large quantities (unless you want to pay a lot).

The technology for that product to be made is not available to the public yet in any sort of product. :D

If you could get a good quality cycling jersey for a reasonable price, with
a cool picture (perhaps the one on your "ET" shirt).  If you could get word
to people in the bicycling community, you might be able to sell some there.

Other things I'd consider, polo style shirt, with a small, simple logo on
it.  Baseball cap would work well like that also.  (If there were any text,
I'd keep it small)

And of course, keep working on new T-shirt ideas :-)

All good ideas.  My favorites are hats, cycling shorts, keychains, and mugs.

I'm all for cycling shorts and polo shirts. I have enough unicycling
T-shirts to clothe a poor country...

I'll never stop making new t-shirt designs.

For this summer, I
hope to have two new designs printed up. The "Language of Unicycling"
one which is currently shown on gilby.com and in development, and then
one with the theme "Never 2 tired" that will be different than the one
called that from 1996 (I've had some requests for that 1996 one, and
it's a good theme). This is in addition to the other (bi-)yearly
shirts I make (Expert competitor, TeamUSA, etc.).

I would like to have a decal of Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes fame
riding a unicycle that I can affix to the back of my car window along
with the "I'd rather be riding my unicycle" license plate frame that I
already have.

BTW, anyone know if any such decal exists?

Work
the maze.

I'm for the bike shorts and polo ideas in particular.

I'd also be
cool to have a warm-up jacket/windbreaker with something embroidered
on it perhaps...

AndyeahIm for the Never 2 Tired design as
well.

Looking forward to the debut of "Language of Unicycling",
Gilby.

Hooded sweatshirts... with hoods big enough to actually fit over your head -
yes please.

Um... Level 11 ***s perhaps? Not embroidered though ;)

How about stealing the "One Less Car" design
<http://www.transalt.org/about/onelesscar.html>, except use "One Less
Wheel"?

cycle shorts.  Mugs are nice, I have one alredy from a BMW, ditto a
mouse mat. I have a tea towel from a BUC. Even my mum has a unicycle mug
and mouse mat, my gran only has the mug.

my grand mother buys me boxer shorts for my birthday as sort of an
inside joke, so i would definatly ask for some unicycle boxers next
year. in fact i would probably buy them as soon as they were on the
market. adn i would also be quik to buy a uni hat. oo oooo and a
mousepad, i want a mousepad.

an idea: perhaps Iron-on-patches with
a unicycle on them?

another idea: welcome mats?
