I still exist and so do the pages. I fact with a bit of luck the
get a major face-lift soon. I am still trying to sort the answer to the
DNS problems that have plagued me for the last year and taken the time I
would have rather put into the pages themselves.
These web addresses should always work although they may not be
the addresses put into your browsers bookmarks. If they don't work for
more than an hour please email me.
The long boring bit
I joined an ADSL pilot about 18 months ago which was great... cheap
fast and I could run a server at home. At six months Monolith went down
and stopped providing Dynamic DNS. I found another provider who's service
was about 50% so I Signed up with dorm.org who I still use. The last 3-4
month have seen the Telco has realised that people are running their own
servers and decided this is bad (ADSL is to cheap compared to the old
technology $99/mthADSL - $2000/mth DDS) so they began degrading ASDL
mainly by forcing changes to the dynamic IP's which means that I am now
forced to look for a dynamic DNS provider that does genuine realtime
updates. http://gnudip.cheapnet.net is currently my choice
so the above bigfoot addresses point at jarvie.dyn.cheapnet.net
ps if you are on ADSL with dynamic IP and have a Nokia M10 Modem I have
some perl scripts to collect the address and detect changes etc.
and now I run around screaming and waving my arms
