10th British Juggling Convention
Nottingham 10th - 13th April '97

* The 10th Anniversary party - 4 days of fun, juggling, music, fun, workshops,
         juggling, cabaret, fun, frolicking, more juggling and even more fun.
* At the University of Nottingham, in and around the sports centre.
* From 10am Thursday 10th April non-stop till 6pm Sunday 13th April.

Attractions to include:- enormous 24hr juggling hall (overlooked by bar & food
area), wide  selection  of very interesting workshops, cabaret and music, U.V.
Room, large  traders  hall, table  football tournament, creche, flying trapeze,
Muni  challenge  on  campus, Swamp  Circus Cabaret, food & beer tent, community
circus,  Croissant   Neuf   circus   tent, bouncy  castle, surprise  games  and
challenges, Springboard  awards  for  under 16s, beginners area, kids renegade,
performance  doctor, seminars, auction, have-a-go  archery, lunch  time parade,
games  in  the  Old  Market  Square, public  show in the Royal Concert Hall - a
serious  2,500 seater theatre.  All this and Jay Gilligan as well !!  With more
still to be added.

We  have  2  large  halls  of residence on-site, with comfortable single rooms,
each  with  its own bar, juggling space, and dining hall serving breakfast till
11am.  These  must be booked in advance.  There will also be a campsite a short
walk away.

Rooms are available on Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 18UKP per night inclusive
of breakfast.

What do I get for my money?
A damn good 4 days!  All the above plus access to the sports centre, big tops,
campsite, car  parking, ticket  for  the  public show, & transport between the
site, parade & public show.

How do I get there?
Nottingham is in the heart of the country, less than 3hrs away from London,
Manchester, Bristol or Newcastle, by car, bus or train.

The University of Nottingham (NOT Trent University) is situated 3 miles west
of Nottingham City Centre, and 3 miles east of the M1.

By road:- From the M1, Junction 25, follow A52 (sign posted Nottingham). Then
follow signs for The University, and/or East Midlands Conference Centre.
From Nottingham City Centre or the Ring Road, follow A52 (sign posted Derby).
Then follow signs for The University, and/or East Midlands Conference Centre.
Enter the campus by the West entrance, the Sports Centre is 1/3 mile from the
West entrance, on the left, opposite the East Midlands Conference Centre.

By public transport:- Catch the no.38 bus to the University West entrance from
outside D&P School Outfitters on Friar Lane, off the Old Market Square, in the
City Centre.  Don't be afraid to ask for directions - Nottingham folk are
friendly & they'll be expecting you.
Or take a taxi (to the Sports Centre via the West entrance).

By air:- East Midlands International Airport is 20 minutes away by car.
Helicopter landing facilities are available by prior arrangement.

The registration desk will be situated in the entrance to the sports hall from
10am Thursday (please try not to arrive before then).

What to bring?
A smile, colourful clothing (for the parade), warm clothing (just in case),
props for the workshops, beer money, sense of humour, a 3-minute routine,
previous convention T-shirts (to win spot prizes), and any old, unwanted,
surplus kit, props, costume, etc, for the Krap Kit Korner (previously known as
the Box of Shite) to be auctioned off to raise money for a worthy cause (i.e.
Oxford '98).
